Matt Roloff was taken emergency medical care.

His fans are receiving an update on Matt Roloff’s recent health scare.

On Monday, the Little People, Big World actor uploaded a photo to Instagram showing him sleeping in a hospital bed. Even though he was beaming in the picture, the 61-year-old revealed that problems from a routine therapy caused his recovery to be put off.

The description for the photo read, “Last week was a little hard. I had my esophagus examined during what I thought to be a routine upper endoscopy. Things don’t go as expected after the doctor says, “We had some complications,” to [fiancée Caryn Chandler]. As it turns out, my stomach makes some unexpected turns.

The Mayo Clinic describes an upper endoscopy as a procedure used to visually examine your upper digestive tract using a tiny camera at the end of a long, flexible tube. Disorders affecting the upper digestive system are regularly recognized and sporadically treated with this method.

Roloff explained that the issue now requires that he receive further medical attention, although he did not elaborate on what that includes.

It’s good news that I didn’t need the computer chip or monitor installed. There is still work to be done, which is poor news. I had to stop working for a few days and be quiet, which is the worst news,” he said. “Back in action today!”

Big World, who is not just the patriarch of Little People, lately went through a health issue.

Zach Roloff was getting ready for a shunt correction, which he termed an “important” treatment, which he shared on Instagram in February.

In order to drain cerebrospinal fluid and direct it to another spot in the body where it can be reabsorbed, a shunt is a hollow tube that is surgically installed in the brain or occasionally in the spine, according to John Hopkins Medicine.

Although the family concealed information about the procedure, a shunt revision may ease pressure on the brain and relieve symptoms like difficulty walking mild dementia, and loss of bladder control.

“Family has maintained frequent contact and communication. We are all praying for Zach as he receives a substantial shunt revision, Matt wrote in the caption of the photo. He is in good hands with Tori zealously protecting his interests… Please join me in requesting a full recovery for Zach.
